Columbia Trail Masters Duathlon Bukidnon

More than 70 participants joined the first ever Columbia Trail Masters Duathlon Bukidnon held in Impasug-ong, Bukidnon last Sunday, November 6, 2011. The gruelling event was comprised of a 10-kilometer run followed by a 30-kilometer bike and finished off with another 5-kilometer run.

The tough and challenging trail  started from the town plaza of Impasug-ong and passed through the scenic hills and canyons of the Old Atugan, Dumalaguing and Capitan Bayong dirt roads. 

Dexter Nonato of Davao City ruled the race with a time of 2:12:41 followed by Jefferson Tabacon who finished at 2:17:10. Leo Colonia of Malaybalay Runners bagged third place honors with a time of 2:20:58.

On the other hand, Judelyn Miranda of Claveria, Misamis Oriental was hardly challenged in the female category with her first place finished time of 3:14:41. Runner up Niecel Espinosa would follow more than 30 minutes later at 3:50:19 while Lalaine Patricio finished third at 3:54:37.

Overall and age category winners received cash prizes and gift certificates from Columbia Sportswear, the event's main sponsor.
